The benefits of meditation are numerous. In our English Chan (Zen) meditation class, we have invited an experienced meditation practitioner and teacher Dr. Yi-Ping to guide us step by step. Chan meditation improves our lives on all three levels of body, mind, and spirit. Practicing regularly, you will be healthier, happier, more energetic, and better balanced in general.  Studies are also showing that mediation practitioners are better able to focus their minds - great for people struggling to learn Chinese!

The style of meditation that we practice encompasses focused breathing, chakra and moving techniques (not usually all at the same time!).  Our lessons and classes are based upon traditional teachings that have been passed down from India and through China for more than 2500 years through a direct lineage of 85 patriarchs.

We hope that by learning to quiet your mind you will experience more of the joy and less of the stress of modern life.

Chan (Zen) is the original source power of life in the universe. Great religious leaders or founders of the past have all gained insight into Chan, and then passed down their teachings and inspirations in different ways according to their different languages and social customs at the time. Chan may be witnessed when we are tranquil enough to resonate with it.

The English Chan Meditation Class offers everyone a unique opportunity to experience the tranquility and the wisdom within him/herself and a glimpse into the eternal wisdom of the universe.  Regardless of your
religious or spiritual beliefs (or lack of them) we believe that Chan Meditation has something to offer everyone.
